How to Get Started as a Real Estate Investor
Four Multi-Million Dollar Millennial Investors & Developers Give Advice on How to Get Started
These four gentlemen are not just your average run of the mill real estate investors. Some of them own 50+ homes, while others are leading multi-million dollar commercial real estate deals while yet others have created their own investment funds and raised millions of dollars.
What's interesting is that they each did it in a non-traditional way and without taking the "normal" path. One used a college project to get started, while another simply operationalized what he learned at work. One gentleman used all he had to purchase one house, in order to prove that an investment thesis was correct, eventually raising money from friends and family.
This session was recorded in an old warehouse in midtown Detroit which was converted to an event space. The punchline, is that in this micro-course each investor/developer will tell their story; what they learned along the way and indirectly mentor you as they teach you "How to Get Started as a Real Estate Investor".

I’m a Management Consultant with a focus on the program and project management of large scale, strategic initiatives for financial service clients with a technological bend.
On the weekends I serve as a workshop facilitator and conference speaker on topics ranging from basic business acumen to innovation and design thinking. I’ve created and led workshops for organizations such as Ford Motor Company’s Ford Fund, Tech Stars Detroit Start-up Week and The United Negro College Fund’s Koch Scholar Program to name a few.
Previously, I worked for one of the largest healthcare payers in the United States where I held responsibility for re-designing and managing the enterprise performance dashboard for the office of the CEO and the Board of Directors. I’m also a former auditor who was focused on operational control deficiencies and process improvement for a multi-billion dollar automobile manufacturing company.
As a strategy consultant I’ve worked in Canada, India, Hong Kong, Spain and Mexico with some of the largest financial service, tech and media firms, designing gaming simulations for their senior executives to “practice” the implementation of strategic initiatives, in a dynamic and competitive test environment.
In all those roles, I have pulled on expertise garnered from an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, GA and a seven year career in banking that covered retail, commercial, treasury management, payments and credit card technology for one of the largest US based international banks.
In my free time I enjoy a good book, spending time with my family, traveling with my friends, listening to 90’s Hip Hop and collecting rare sneakers when the urge arises.
